About Wooden Tricks

One of a kind, wood turnings, made to be heirlooms for generations.

Much of my work is carved on the lathe.  I like to use wood that has striking characteristics.

Exotic wood is sometime used; however, I love the overwhelming variety of woods that we have right here in the Appalachian Mountains.  In some cases, I use spalted wood that has incipient decay, this makes the wood beautiful and truly one of a kind.

As a wood turning artist, I’m not satisfied with just one area of wood turning, I must do all things wood turning. Whether its hand chasing threaded boxes, hollow forms, bowls, or making intricate reproductions of spinning wheels: I love it all.
